Ballast Water Treatment in operational excellence

RWO's CleanBallast system is one of the very few ballast water treatment technologies that can withstand the uncertainties of the future and has operational experience.

To date CleanBallast has been already selected by customers from countries all over the world like China, Cyprus, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea and the Netherlands for bulker, container, heavy lift, multi purpose and tanker vessels.

  • The two-stage treatment principle consists of the proven in-depth disk-filtration technology combined with our advanced electrochemical EctoSys® disinfection - and guarantees a rapid and reliable handling of ballast water.

Advantages

CleanBallast is not only type-approved by one of the toughest authorities, but also has real commercial operational experience. It is designed for real ballast water conditions and sustainable with the potential to be upgraded for even tighter future limit values.

RWO has, of course, also already applied for AMS and USCG approval of CleanBallast - and we are absolutely confident of achieving this as one of the first companies to do so.

The two-stage treatment principle
  • Particles, sediments and organisms that are larger than 55 μm are removed by means of mechanical filtration in the DiskFilter. This is followed by the EctoSys® electrochemical cell, which further reduces the number of living organisms and disinfects the water before it reaches the ballast water tanks.
