Sewage treatment in accordance with the new MEPC.159(55)

With the new IMO Resolution MEPC.159(55) applicable for installations starting from January 1st 2010, new and more stringent limit values came into force for effluent water from marine sewage treatment plants.

RWO's family of wastewater treatment systems has been complemented by the

  • biological wastewater treatment series WWT-LC 
  • and the membrane sewage treatment series SMT

to fulfil the new MEPC.159(55).

Both types, i.e. the WWT-LC as well as the SMT are offering a number of advantages, incl.:

  • standardised sewage treatment systems available in the most common capacities

In addition to the WWT-LC and SMT, RWO also offers the MEMROD® process (MEMbrane Reactor Operation Device.
The MEMROD®process is comparable to the SMT process but foreseen for larger capacities and therefore being a custom-made system.

Since its development numerous MEMROD® plants have been installed on board of research-, navy-, cruise-vessels and mega yachts.
