Biological sewage treatment

Biological Sewage Treatment Plant series WWT-LC

With the new IMO Resolution MEPC.159(55) applicable for installations starting from January 1st 2010, new and more stringent limit values will come into force for effluent water from marine sewage treatment plants.

RWO's family of wastewater treatment systems has therefore been complemented by the biological wastewater treatment series WWT-LC fulfillingthe new MEPC.159(55)

WWT-LC 2

The WWT-LC is generally based on RWO's proven Biopur WWT technology together with an additional treatment step.

  • Mixed Bed Biofilm Reactor (MBBR) giving process stability and excellent effluent results
  • Compact design with small foot print
  • Suitable for both gravity and vacuum sewage drainage
  • No pH adjustment problems due to special post-treatment
  • Fully automatic operation
  • Robust and user friendly
  • Biological Sewage Treatment Plant WWT

    WWT 8

    in accordance with MEPC.2(VI)

    • excellent effluent results and process stability
    • suitable to treat black and grey water or black water only
    • fixed film reactor
    • delivered as plug and play unit
    • applicable for gravity and vacuum sewage drainage
    • compact, small footprint design
    • standardised systems
    • fulfilling MEPC.2(VI)

Process advantages of the WWT-LC and WWT

    • continuous reduction of the organic load with the bacteria adapted on the fixed film reactor
    • activated sludge will remain during excess sludge discharge as adapted on the fixed film reactor
    • higher detention time of the air by the fixed film reactor is the reason for a maximum oxygen transfer
    • good sedimentation of the excess sludge in the sedimentation tank
    • high process stability of the sewage treatment plant if hydraulic / organic load drops down for a longer period of time
